Our local Monterey Wild Salmon Population is struggling and the fishing season has been cancelled for commercial and recreational. I spent hours researching the most sustainable source (globally) for salmon. I found a mindful salmon farm in New Zealand that is environmentally focused and highly progressive in how they manage their fish.
This is very exciting to us!
Sustainably raised in tune with nature, these salmon are hatched in the crystal clear waters of Te Waikoropupu Springs. They are then transferred to Marlborough Sound where they mature in large, ocean "pastures." These fish never come in contact with wild salmon. This progressive breeding program is at the forefront of environmental awareness, animal
welfare and sustainability. There is no program of this excellence in existence, within the USA.
